Mountain biking & e-biking in Galtür
Galtür is the ideal starting point for anyone who wants to conquer the mountains by bike!
From gentle, panoramic routes to challenging trails, the region offers everything to make a biker's heart beat faster. Enjoy varied tours that are perfect for relaxed excursions by e-bike, or challenge yourself on steep climbs and rapid descents.
‘Silva-Trails’, Galtür's own MTB trail network, offers a wide variety of routes for beginners and pros alike. Thanks to the Silvretta Card, you benefit from many advantages!
Numerous extras are available for bikers at the Almhof. A charging station for e-bikes, a bike room, a washing facility and a service station with tools for small repairs make it easier to look after your bike.
After a tour, there is a drying room for shoes and a laundry service for fresh clothes. There is also a shower facility after check-out and a water bottle refill with ISO drinks so that you can start the next tour perfectly fuelled.
Biking, wellness & pleasure
The Almhof is conveniently located right next to the ‘Silva Trails Galtür’ bike park and our partner, the Silvretta Galtür bike school, is just 100 metres away, where state-of-the-art rental bikes and experienced bike guides are at your disposal.
After an eventful day, guests can look forward to a relaxing after-bike time in the wellness area. The swimming pool, sauna facilities and a fitness room are available for a relaxing workout.
You can also treat yourself to a soothing massage - for example ‘Servus die Wadln’. Our masseur will make sure that tired muscles are fit again for the next adventure.

Hike & Bike
HIKE & BIKE from Almhof to Wiegensee covers a distance of 11.2 kilometres and takes around 3.45 hours.
The tour starts directly at the Hotel Almhof and leads along the Paznaun cycle path to the Alpengasthof Zeinisjoch at an altitude of almost 2,000 metres. Mountain bikes can be safely parked in the bike depot there. The Alpengasthof, which is already in Vorarlberg, invites you to take a cosy break on its large sun terrace. From here, follow the scenic hiking trail to the Verbella Alpe at 1,938 metres.
This idyllic alpine pasture also offers an excellent opportunity to stop for refreshments in the midst of spectacular nature. The trail leads along the Verbella stream through a unique high moor landscape to the Wiegensee lake. This was voted the most beautiful place in Austria in the ‘9 Places - 9 Treasures’ show in 2021. Lake Wiegensee and the surrounding moorland are located in the Verwall European nature reserve. There are numerous protected plants to admire here, and we ask you not to leave the paths.
Bike tour to the Lareinalm
From the starting point in Wirl, follow the cycle path out of the valley along the Trisanna. At Tschaffein, you switch to the southern side of the stream.
After a good 2.5 kilometres, you reach the lowest point of the tour, leave the valley floor and enter the dense May forest at the entrance to the Lareintal valley. The route continues along moderately steep forest roads along the Lareinbach stream, always close to it, uphill to the Lareinalm. The cosy terrace there invites you to take a well-earned break - with home-made delicacies and a magnificent mountain panorama.
There is an alternative route for the return journey: About 600 metres after the hut, turn left and - after a short ascent - descend back down to Tschaffein, where you return to the cycle path.
